Rapid People Strategy Development

 

Challenge

We had worked with this client previous so knew the organisation well. Our challenge was to work with the Chief People Officer to develop within an 8-week period a People Strategy she could take to the Board.

Approach

Working closely with the People leadership team and CEO we:

  • Completed a short discovery phase, reviewing organisational strategy and plans, previous people strategies and their outcomes, colleague engagement feedback and other key documents.
  • Worked with the CEO, Executive team and Board to understand the key strategic shifts the organisation needed to make over the next 3-5 years and the people and organisational implications of these.
  • Worked with the people team (all levels) and other key stakeholders from across the organisation to understand better what people and organisational enablers were needed to deliver the strategic outcomes.
  • Developed a working hypothesis which was then tested with the CPO, People Team and Executive Team before developing a firm proposal.


Although developed and delivered at pace, this was a highly collaborative piece of work which created strong ownership across all stakeholders.

Outcome

The People Strategy was fully endorsed by the Executive Team and the Board and is now being implemented.
