Developing a People Strategy to drive organisational change – With the support of Mightywaters we have been able to reposition the HR Function in the organisation (higher value/lower cost); deliver all our strategic people goals (linked to cost reduction; process improvement and engagement) and create an extended leadership group to deliver organisational change.

HR transformation through merger – I have worked with Mightywaters Consulting since 2001, initially as HR Director for National Grid. The HR function needed to change to deliver greater value through partnering with the business. Apparently a relatively straightforward requirement but in practice complex and sophisticated with value only being achieved if partnering became part of HR’s DNA. I believe the goal was only delivered effectively by virtue of working with Mightywaters. The organisation, extricated from a nationalised industry, had to be restructured and roles designed; employees assessed against a new framework of competencies and behaviours and those considered to have the appropriate attributes to be developed to contribute fully. This task was further amplified with the integration of the Transco gas business. Mightywaters supported me and my leadership team throughout the transformation of the HR function and supported our thinking in shaping the People Strategy for the business.
